The Thiepval Masonic Family comprises one each of a Masonic Craft Lodge, a Royal Arch Chapter and a Council of Knight Masons operating under the authority of the Grand Lodge of Ireland, Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Ireland and the Grand Council of Knight Masons. Formed to remember those who served in the British Armed Forces in two world wars and other conflicts, the name derives from the area where the valiant men of 36th (Ulster) Division fought and died in the Battle of the Somme in 1916. "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them" |
